Vision Varanasi
A initiative to bring eyecare to those who wouldn’t otherwise afford it
Vision Varanasi is a charitable endeavor begun in 2007 to provide free eyecare to individuals who otherwise could not afford treatment.
Most commonly the clinic treats refractive issues (glasses), cataracts, diabetic eye disease, and infections, but anyone experiencing any eye problem will be examined and diagnosed. The clinic is open year-round at our main eye hospital, situated adjacent to the Bal Ashram campus. Founded by Dr. Ivor Wolfe from the United Kingdom, Vision Varansi is operated by a local team of dedicated eye care professionals and staff through the Aghor Foundation.
In the past three years, Vision Varanasi has provided eye care services to over 69,000 people through our main hospital in Varanasi and our mobile eye camps and clinics. We have reached 127 villages and hosted 333 eye camps through our mobile outreach program. A total of 22,194 glasses have been given to the needy and 717 surgeries have been performed.
